Buying Back Halloween Candy to Benefit Teeth and the Community
Halloween candy can contribute to tooth decay, and some candy can even damage orthodontic patients’ braces. Dr. Hersh and Dr. Beattie want to help kids avoid injury to their braces and their teeth by buying back Halloween Candy.
We pay our patients (and their friends) for their Halloween candy, in an effort to avoid the potential for harming their braces or teeth. In addition we are able to give back to the community. Weeks following Halloween are an orthodontist’s busy time of the year for emergency calls. Our candy buy backs helps to cut down un-necessary orthodontic emergencies, yet help children especially those wearing braces enjoy the holiday.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS
All candy brought in by a child will be weighed.
For each pound of candy the child brings in, they will receive $1.00, and $1.00 will go towards helping a local charity.
Candy will be accepted at both of our locations the week following Halloween.
